Target April fool Week Seven Report

#targetalprilfool #writing

It’s the end of week seven and I’ve turned my word count around and passed 40000 words. I also almost quit. However, I didn’t quit, I realised that I had to just keep going. I know also that I’m very close to the end. I’m in the middle of the main climax of the story, with maybe 10000 or less words to going. I’m going to risk slowing down a little for a week to get my energy back. I hope it works.

Here is how the numbers broke down
Start of week Seven, 17/2/14, 38024 words
Finish of week Seven, 23/2/14, 41038 words
Total words for the week 3014

The end goal remains, that by week 13 (1st April) I have finished first draft of my first novel, Lonely Susan.
Can I do this? I don’t know, but I’m going to try really hard.

Target April fool Week Six Report

#targetalprilfool #writing

Did not get even close to my goal for week six, which was passing 40000 words Week six is now the lowest number count so far, beating week five. I am still dropping in numbers each week, so this week my goal is not to. I’m hoping to turn it around and go back up.

Here is how the numbers broke down
Start of week Six, 3/2/14, 35306 words
Finish of week Six, 9/2/14, 38024 words
Total words for the week 2718
I’m going to be extra busy right up to the 9th of March, with things on most nights and every weekend. It’s going to be a real test for me to just keep up the writing.

The end goal remains, that by week 13 (1st April) I have finished first draft of my first novel, Lonely Susan.

Can I do this? I don’t know, but I’m going to try really hard.

Target April fool Week Five Report

#targetalprilfool #writing

Week five is now the lowest number count so far, beating week four. I see a pattern forming here. If I’m not careful it’s going to keep going down.

Here is how the numbers broke down
Start of week five, 3/2/14, 32440 words
Finish of week five, 9/2/14, 35306words
Total words for the week 2866

I know it’s going to get hard each week, but I have to turn it around. There for, I am aiming to make it past 40000 words this week. This will mean that I will have to get very creative with finding time to write as my life is starting to get very busy.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to fit in that little bit of extra writing will be thankfully accepted.

The end goal remains, that by week 13 (1st April) I have finished first draft of my first novel  Lonely Susan.

Can I do this? I don’t know, but I’m going to try really hard.

Target April fool Week Four Report

#targetalprilfool #writing
Week four is the lowest number count so far. To be fair, I was sick in bed for two days with a virus.

Here is how the numbers broke down
Start of week four, 26/1/14, 29131 words
Finish of week four, 2/2/14, 32440 words
Total words for the week 3309

It has become clear to me that Lonely Susan is not going to come very near to 80000 words in length. At just over 30000 words I’m about two thirds of the way through the story. So, I guess it’s going to be about a 50000 word story. I know that there are sections in the early part of the story that are under written, which may add a few thousand more words, but it’s looking like a novella, rather than a novel. However, it might be a good length for an eBook?

I’m going to keep writing as much as I can each day and hopefully average around 500 words.
The end goal remains, that by week 13 (1st April) I have finished first draft of my first novel (or novella), Lonely Susan.

Can I do this? I don’t know, but I’m going to try really hard.
